I was skeptical of Rick Warren after reading his Purpose Driven Life -- seemingly disguised as an evangelistic tool but he kept using differing translations of the Bible, it seems, to make his point with extensive use of The Message translation.
Then when I read he spoke to members of a Jewish Synogogue, there was not one mention of Jesus. That should be an impossible feat for an evangelistic minister I'd think.
Now he's singing the praises of Syria and inviting Barack Obama to his megachurch on Dec 1. Barack Obama is antithetical to Christian beliefs.
I'd be very wary of Rick Warren and the message he is sending to the world.

Bipartisanship in Congress
Any takers on how long bipartisanship will flourish between Congress and the President? How about none.
Does anyone seriously think those Democrats who have had nothing but an unnatural, vitriolic hatred of President Bush for the past 6 years can change over night? Don't count on it. One gets a sense it was difficult for Pelosi, Reid and Durban to contain the glee with which they are going to attack President Bush and his policies as soon as they returned from their "breakfast" at the White House.
Oh, I suppose if Bush appoints people to his cabinet or other posts requiring confirmation by the Senate who lean to the left there will be bipartisanship. Just let the President appoint someone who is not to their liking and watch the finger pointing and claims begin that Bush is reverting back to partisanship. As they used to say in ancient Rome -- "Let the games begin" -- or was that ancient Greece?
Watch the hog-nosed Waxman in the coming months if you want to see bipartisanship flourish. He can't wait to start the investigations.
Durban has indicated the wiretapping issue is a non-starter and won't even see the light of day.
Personally, I'd like to see all conservative members of the military leave the military once their enlistment is up. Maybe the liberals from the "Hollowwood" Left Coast, the Cindy Sheehan's of the country and others of their ilk can signup and defend this country -- but, then again, why should they? They don't feel this country needs defending.
The bottomline is, they've dissed our military and the defense of this country so much, why would anyone want to risk their life for the likes of them? Talk about fighting for a lost cause...

What New Direction?
By now you've all seen the Democrats' latest campaign slogan:
"A New Direction For America -- Vote DEMOCRATIC!"
Let's analyze this misleading promise:
The stock market is at a new all-time high and America's 401K's are back. A new direction from there means what?
Unemployment is at 25-year lows. A new direction from there means what?
Oil prices are plummeting. A new direction from there means what?
Taxes are at 20-year lows. A new direction from there means what?
Federal tax revenues are at all-time highs. A new direction from there means what?
The Federal deficit is down almost 50%, just as predicted over last year. A new direction from there means what?
Home valuations are up 200% over the past 3.5 years. A new direction from there means what?
Inflation is in check, hovering at 20 year lows. A new direction from there means what?
Not a single terrorist attack on US soil since 9/11/01. A new direction from there means what?
Osama bin Laden is living under a rock in a dark cave, having not surfaced in years, if he's alive at all, while 95% of Al Qaeda's top dogs are either dead or in custody, cooperating with US Intelligence. A new direction from there means what?
Several major terrorist attacks already thwarted by US and British Intelligence, including the recent planned attack involving 10 Jumbo Jets being exploded in mid-air over major US cities in order to celebrate the anniversary of the 9/11/01 attacks. A new direction from there means what?
Just as Bush had planned and foretold us of on a number of occasions, Iraq was to be made "ground zero" for the war on terrorism -- and just as Bush said they would, terrorist cells from all over the region are alighting the shadows of their hiding places and flooding into Iraq in order to get their faces blown off by US Marines rather than boarding planes and heading to the United States to wage war on us here. A new direction from there means what?
Moreover, bear in mind that all of the above occurred in the face of the 1999 tech crash, the epidemic of corporate scandals throughout the 90's, and the 9/11/01 terrorist attacks on NYC years in the planning which collectively sucked 24 trillions dollars and 7.8 million jobs out of the US economy even before G. W. Bush had time to unpack his suitcases in the White House.
It's easy for the Democrats to attempt to discredit, disgrace and defame our commander in chief, George W. Bush -- that's what they do. What's not so easy for them to do is to refute irrefutable facts, no matter how they might try.
Democrats Win - Country Loses!
Well let's hope that the Democrat Party's coming to power will result in some positives. Positives such as ending the virtiolic partisanship that's been displayed over the past several years. Maybe the day to day business will result in something being accomplished with less acrimony.
For some reason, though, I doubt this will be the case. Why? Because, despite their protestations to the contrary, the Democrats are the one's who have initiated the venomnous, hatefilled commentaries since President Bush came to power. They're very good at perpetrating an insult or slight and then accusing the Republican's of doing it.
I still scratch my head at the unmitigated and inexplicable hate they've displayed of George Bush. The Democrat's remind me of the old vampire movies where the vampire recoils in horror at the site of a cross or sunlight; much like they react when George Bush comes into their presence or conversaton. And this started before George Bush became President.

Murdoch's Changed Attitude about Global Warming
Rupert Murdoch has changed his mind about global warming and thinks we should buy into the unproven and unscientific hype by shrill spokesmen like Al Gore.
My question is where are the bleeding heart environmentalist's that are trying to browbeat us into accepting the unproven fact that Global Warming is caused by man and his reckless use of resources when it comes to the recent find that fishing over the past 50 or 60 years has been depleted from over-fishing. To me that seems like a more immediate concern than a cyclical change in the weather.

A Referendum I'd Like To See!
Now that the weasel Democrat's in Congress who agreed Sadamm had WMD during both Bill Clinton's administration and leading up to the Iraq war and are now claiming President Bush lied about them to get us into Iraq, I'd like to see a referendum vote by both houses asking the following questions:
1. Do you believe Iran is feverishly working to obtain nuclear weapons?
2. Do you believe N. Korea is feverishly working to obtain nuclear weapons?
3. If yes to the above, do you agree at least one, if not both, will use them either directly or sell them to terrorists or rogue nations?
This vote needs to go on record, regardless of who wins the election, so the waffling can be identified when it starts all over again.

John "I think our troops are smart" Kerry
Will he ever learn? Arrogrance and pride are not becoming to anyone and I'm amazed he made it through the 2004 election doing as well as he did.
If he makes a serious run in 2008 I'd have to say it disproves Abraham Lincoln's quote that "you can fool some of the Democrats some of the time but you can't fool all of the Democrats all the time". At least I think that's what he said...

Reasons to vote for Democrats
I would like to encourage all registered voters to vote for a Democrat in this year's elections if:
1. You cannot stand intolerance in other people (unless, of course, it's being intolerant of a Christian for his or her belief in Jesus Christ).
2. You are for diversity--diversity as in embracing the homosexual lifestyle.
3. You are for choice--as in the choice of being pro-death--the opposite of pro-life.
4. You speak more highly of Saddam Hussein and Osama bin Laden than you do of President Bush.
5. You are praying for a downturn in the economy in order to beat the Republicans.
6. You want to stop all tax cuts so you can better spend the taxpayers' money because they're too stupid to know what to do with it anyway.
7. You want the Boy Scouts of America to become politically correct and give up those ideals that made them the great organization they are today.
8. You want to pry the gun from Charlton Heston's cold, dead hands (and everyone else's too).
9. You want any reference to God removed from all public places--at least for starters.
10. You support Senate Democrats who are usurping the Constitution by use of a filibuster, and not allowing all duly elected senators to have an up-or-down vote for the president's judicial nominees.
11. You feel this country and our military should acquiesce to the wishes of the United Nations, even though many of the member nations are not our friends.
12. You support the ACLU--Anti Christian Lawyers Union.
